I took my Tiny Texans on a trip out to Blase Family Farms in Rockwall, TX. It was such a great time. These are the days I will cherish forever. We ran around, ate blueberries, and took pics. Everyone prepares you for the “terrible twos”, the tantrums, the picky food battles, and the sleep regressions. What no one can prepare you for is the feeling you get when they come running to give me a giant bear hug. It’s indescribable and by far the best feeling in the world. Or how singing a silly song is all it takes to make their day. Hearing them yell “DADA” as JHC walks through the door is one of my favorite sounds. Seeing them smile makes me feel like the luckiest girl. Thank God he chose me to be their mama.
Heading to Blase Family Farm
Blase Family Farm is a small pick your own blueberry farm in the middle of a suburb in Rockwall, TX. It was the perfect
What to Bring:
They recommend bug spray with DEET because chiggers love blueberries. We used a DEET one on our legs and this one on the rest of our bodies. I also attached an Off! Fan to our wagon. Our wagon worked great! Just remember it’s a farm, there were hills and mud puddles (I wish I hadn’t worn flatforms lol). There are shaded areas, but where the blueberries are you will need sunscreen. We have been loving this one. The boys are outside for hours and without a burn, just ordered this one for our face. It smells SO good. It rained the morning we went, but on a normal Texas Summer day, you will probably want a stroller fan. My boys drank so much water out there! I was able to buy more at the front, but I wish I had it by the blueberries (about a 5 min walk away).
If you’re in the area and looking for a fun, easy, low-cost Summer activity, please check out Blase Family Farm. We had such a fun time, and I think it’s only open a few more weeks. Let me know if you make it out there, I’d love to see y’all
